Finding the Right Corvette Side Exhaust Parts Without Becoming Exhausted 

When it comes to Corvette side exhaust parts, you want to get it right the first time. After all, these are some of the more expensive parts for classic Corvettes. The last thing you want to do is to have to go through multiple options until you find the right ones. To be “the right ones,” they have to combine the best in accuracy, durability, and more. Our reproduction side exhaust parts were created from the original blueprints. That way, we were able to reproduce something that is as close as possible to the originals. 

“A Marathon, Not a Sprint” 

We didn’t acquire the blueprints to side exhaust covers one day and then start building the next. To make the kind of high quality parts that we would put in our own Corvettes, we knew that it had to be a gradual process. Anything that was even remotely “rushed” or any “corners cut” would ultimately keep us from our goal. That’s why the construction of the tooling for our side exhaust covers (to say nothing of the final adjustments) was a project that took roughly three years. That’s important for many reasons. 

Optimum Tooling for Optimal Parts 

The original tooling that made Corvette side exhaust covers was strong and sturdy indeed. But, as with anything else, that tooling became worn over time. As you might imagine, in its day, that tooling got used quite a bit. So, eventually, that tooling came to make “tooling marks” on side exhaust covers. They might be gouges or other imperfections. Even if these didn’t cause problems for Corvette operation, they had a substandard look. That doesn’t happen with our new tooling.

What Our New Tooling Provides 

Firstly, you won’t see anything like those gouges or really, any tooling marks in general. What you will see are bends without wrinkles and clear, crisp lines. So, you won’t have to worry about them fitting on your car – they’ll fit perfectly. Beyond what the tooling can do, we make sure that your side exhaust covers look great, too. The accuracy of the masking and paint detail are so good, you probably won’t be able to tell they’re reproduced. The fiberglass matches the dark grey color of the factory-installed covers. Essentially, these parts combine the looks and fit of the past with modern technological advancements.

 While we’re quite proud of our side exhaust covers, they’re far from the only parts we offer for your Corvette. For example, as of this writing, we currently offer new, reproduction upper mouldings that are specifically made for the side exhaust of 1965-1967 Corvettes. Yes, they perfectly mirror the look of the originals, but, we also included little details, such as folding excess material in a straight method.
